The frame as seen on eBay.

The frame arrives - June, 2002

Looking pretty "Used"

A battery box is included!

It's broken.

Too bad... It seems these little guys were always over enjoyed.

Somebody tried to weld this.....
I'll have to have this welded the right way!

The Vehicle Identification Number is in good shape!!!!

Here's a tank that's seen better days.

The tank was sloppily brazed at one point.

This was carefully brought down with a Dremel tool
and then the definition of the tank was built up using a little JB Weld.

The paint was removed using Aircraft Stripper.

POR 15 treatment for the old tank makes the inside as good as new!

A little bondo and spot putty works great on the tank.

(This really is very easy!)

Then wet sand with 280 and 320, and 440 grit sand paper,
add primer - then wet sand again with 600 and 800 grit and it's like magic!

The vintage hardware will be cleaned up and sent out for cadmium plating.

A headlight bucket in great condition!!

The frame is all welded, sandblasted and primered.

Sam is a perfectionist!! - he also found a second crack towards the front.
It's as good as new now!

A pretty good set of tank badges weren't that hard to find.

After banging out the dents, sanding,
and stripping the paint, these guys were sent out for
chroming and then it was a little bit of painting....

They look GREAT!!!

The brake plates and wheel hubs will clean up very nicely
with 280, 320, 440, 600 and 800 grit wet/dry sand paper.
Then they will be buffed on the buffing wheel with a little rouge.
After 8 or 10 hours they will look just like chrome!!

Finally found a 1969 gas cap for the Z50A K1.

Gas cap disassembled for chrome plating.

Vintage hardware back from cadmium plating. (September, 2002)

New and NOS (New Old Stock) parts from Classic Honda in Tyler Texas.

The frame, fork and tank are back
from painting and they're lookin' good!!!

Notice the rebuilt engine - This one is from Vern Borcherts in
Rockford, Illinois. It has been completely gone over -
The cases were split and the motor completely gone through!
A brand new top-end. New valves, springs, caps, timing gear,
roller, chain, points and condensor, clutch, piston, rings, pin,
and clips. A starter and flywheel gear, gaskets and seals throughout.

All polished and hand painted!

Awesome!!! (January, 2003)

First step in the assembly process - Get that bottom bearing race in place.

The paint was removed from the nub at the bottom of the center post.
Then the bearing race was covered with another spare bottom race inverted.
Using a 18 inch piece of 1" pipe the bearing was seated with one good wack!

Carmen, my assistant helps with the tail light bracket - Good job!!

Remember the battery box from the first photos.

After powder coating and repairing the tab that connects the rectifier to the box,
I cleaned, painted and reassembled.

It's better than a new one now.

It really looks beautiful!!

The Vehicle Identification Number looks great on top of the new paint!!!

Well, we're almost there.

I can't wait! - I'll be having a big party!!!
